2016 Lakewood Conservatory of Fine Arts Summer Gallery & Art Contest
Public gallery featuring the works of Chuck McCarter & Stephen Potter
runs July 14th – September 15th at Lakewood Conservatory of Fine
Art Gallery Opening Reception – July 14th
Closing Art Reception and Contest Winners Announced – September 15th
Opening and closing reception will include entertainment by Eva Brandys,
co-founder of Lakewood Conservatory of Fine Arts (LCFA) and founder of
Park Cities School of Music (PCSOM). In addition, students from both LCFA
and PCSOM will perform varying music genres. Complimentary food and drink
will be served.
Summer Art Contest Rules:
Ages 5-14 can participate.
Best reproduction of Chuck McCarter’s work entitled Messenger and
best reproduction of Stephen Potter’s work entitled Posing for Picasso wins.

Participants are encouraged to present free interpretation reproductions
using paint, sketch or sculpture
Completed reproductions can be submitted to Lakewood Conservatory of Fine
Arts between July 14th and September 15th during open hours.
Submitted artwork will be on display at the conservatory through September 15th.
McCarter’s Messenger and Potter’s Posing for Picasso will be
on display at Lakewood Conservatory of Fine Arts from July 14th- September
15th. Participants can view or study these pieces anytime during opening
hours of LCFA.
Chuck McCarter, Stephen Potter and co-founder of LCFA Ewa Korzienoskwa
will judge the contest and announce the winner of best reproduction from
the following age groups:
5-7, 8-10 & 11-14
The winners will receive a toolbox of professional art supplies and their
work will be put on display at the Lakewood Conservatory of Fine Arts
